Bohemian Vibes Mystery CAL – Part 3
Welcome back to Part 3 of the Bohemian Vibes Mystery CAL! This week, we’re working on rows 6 and 7, which add even more texture and interest to the center of your project. In these rows, you’ll create delicate loops and add a background layer of stitches that work behind the loops, creating a lovely layered effect. I used light gray yarn for Row 6 and dusty blue for Row 7, but as always, feel free to get creative with your colors!
Row 6: Building the Looped Border
To get started with Row 6:
– Join in any space between the 3 single crochets from Row 5.
– sc, ch 6, sk 3 st; 2 sc in the next space between the groups of 3 sc from Row 5; ch 6. Repeat this all the way around until you have 12 chain-6 loops and 24 single crochets.
– Join to complete the round.
These chain loops will be positioned in front of your work, giving the piece a light and airy border effect.
Row 7: Working Behind the Loops
For Row 7, we’ll add a new layer behind those loops to give our center even more depth:
– Start with a chain 3, then work one double crochet in each space around, making sure to work behind the loops created in Row 6. This way, the loops will stay in front, adding that unique layered look we’re going for.
– We’ll be attaching these loops later, so don’t worry if they seem to float right now!
Mystery CAL Resources for This Part
To help you along, I’ve created a video for Rows 6 and 7. The video will walk you through these steps, while the diagram provides a visual guide if you prefer to see how it all comes together.
With these rows, you’ll notice the center of your project taking shape and gaining new dimensions. Keep going, and stay tuned for the next steps in our Bohemian Vibes journey!
